THE BRAND
Shunammite Productions, LLC was born to meet a need. What need you may ask? The need to express love and appreciation for the First Lady, also commonly known as the Pastor’s wife. Both terms are endearing and are synonymous.
For me this journey began back in the early 2000's. I was at church; we were in the midst of celebrating our Pastor’s annual anniversary. My normal routine was to run out and look for a card that was appropriate for the occasion and present that card on behalf of my family and I. As I was driving to the store an idea popped in my spirit to purchase a card for my First Lady. You see, I was currently serving as one of her adjutants or Armor Bearers. For those of you, who serve in this capacity, you know first- hand how overwhelming the role of a Pastor’s wife can be.
The rest of the congregation only see the beautiful hats, Saint John suits, red bottom shoes which are all external and perceives that she has it made. That is so superficial and carnal, but those that have a pulse in the spirit can agree with me that she needs encouragement too!! So I looked and looked some more but there were no cards to be found.
Years would pass and every Pastoral Anniversary I always searched for a specific “First Lady" card to no avail.
Little did I know that in 2008, my husband would be ordained as a Pastor, and I would become a “First Lady.
THE DESIGNERS
In 2008, Lady Karen became a “First Lady.'’ After becoming engulfed in my new ministry role and juggling my work schedule the “First Lady’ card idea was put on a shelf. There was no way I could move forward with launching something like this because it would feel like I was encouraging myself out loud! Little did I know that God had placed a woman within the ministry that possessed this same passion.
During one of our pastoral anniversaries Joan presented me with a card. Later, during the week as I was going through some of the envelopes, I came across her card and immediately I knew I had to connect with her and move forward with this idea. To date, she and I have formed an LLC, written and designed several cards which are all copy written and formed our own Trademark.
